Did you know mesquite flour is protein-rich and gluten-free? Or that ironwood beans are used in Ayurvedic medicine? Or that Saguaro fruit is the original sweetener of our region?
It’s time to tap into the Sonoran Desert!
Harvest with Homegrown this summer, to feed ourselves and our communities. We will leave plenty for wildlife, while benefiting from the abundance our desert is creating.
We have developed a highly efficient process for harvesting and milling mesquite flour.
We are partnering with landscapers, arborists, and homeowners to harvest dry pods from trees. And we are milling flour in our kitchens alongside Cactus Kelly & The Urban Farm community hammer mill.
You can harvest/mill your own. You can get paid. You can also purchase as a donation to Homegrown!
