Permablitz!

Transform your yard into a food-bearing, pollinator garden paradise — at a fraction of the cost of hiring a crew.

In an ongoing effort to expand our impact on soil fertility, food security, and community strengthening, we are piloting Phoenix’s first “Permablitz” program.

What’s a Permablitz?

Permablitzes are community-powered yard transformations that use principles of permaculture. Check out one example:

How Our Program Works

1. Small Budget, Big Community

Rather than paying a full crew, your budget goes towards design, materials, and a certified Permascaping professional leading your friends & family (and some of our own volunteers) through the entire project.

2. Professional Guidance

Budgeting for professional design & leadership ensures everything is done right the first time, while you & your community learn valuable permaculture design skills in real-world practice.

3. Transformational Results

Imagine paying $5,000 instead of $20,000 and getting the same results in your yard! And, on top of that, your community now has a new skillset to repurpose in future yard projects together.

Essentially, we are offering our Permascaping design & implementation expertise in a new format that allows us to still make some revenue, while drastically reducing costs to the end customer.

Benefits of a Professionally Guided Permablitz

More Money in Your Pocket

This model can save homeowners tens of thousands of dollars in a single project. It’s the best way to reliably access professional-grade services without breaking the bank.

Greater Community Upskilling

Faster Time to Impact

teaching people, bringing together community, and achieving greater impact on soil & community self-reliance 🙌

FAQs

‣
Who is eligible for a Permablitz?

Anyone can organize a Permablitz! You don’t even need us. Check out permablitz.net for resources and guides.

And, everyone is eligible for our professionally-led experience. Just get in touch above to start the process.

‣
What’s required from me?
  1. A budget to cover design, materials, and professional facilitation.
  2. A group of friends, family, and neighbors to do the work. We will also tap our network of local volunteers if need be.
‣
How much does it cost?

Materials costs are variable to your project of course. The professional design phase is $500 and professional facilitation is $500/day. Compare this to tens of thousands of dollars in a single project.

‣
When do these take place?

Because labor is volunteer-based, we imagine most of these will happen on weekends and holidays. We’ll provide a more specific public schedule for community volunteers once we get rolling with these projects on a consistent basis.

‣
How long do they take?

An entire Permablitz can be done in a single weekend or less, thanks to our intentional design phase, extensive professional experience managing projects of this nature, and your passionate community volunteering in numbers!

‣
What do volunteers get?

Beyond feeling good about themselves and helping their community be more self-sufficient and ecological, volunteers acquire professional knowledge & skillsets, learning how to practice permaculture in the real world — our urban/suburban environment.
